Since Orphan transitioned to new seeding arrangements at the start of 2026, the group has lacked at IRC bot for downloading files. Yes, I'm aware that IRC has a dwindling audience, and yes, the young 'uns consider it hopelessly passe, but I still think it's useful. The anime industry hates Bittorrent, and they hound the usual torrent site relentlessly, trying to drive it offline. They don't seem to care about IRC. So an XDCC bot is insurance that Orphan's releases will remain available, even as torrent sites come and go.
The bot has a new name - Orphan|XDCC - not the most original, perhaps, but highly functional. You can find it in channels #nibl or #news on irc.rizon.net. I won't be mentioning in every blog post or torrent, so remember that it's available for all your Orphan downloading needs!
